Weekend Recap | & Friends Baby Shower

Ah, Memorial Weekend, came and gone too fast. This weekend was fun, relaxing, and not long enough! The good news is that it is a shorter work week!

Also made it to 22 weeks this week, whoo hoo! The bump is growing quick!

My husband was out of town this weekend so on Friday evening I headed to the beach where my friend was camping. They had a movie on the beach for everyone so we brought some food and watched The Secret Life of Pets. We talked more than we watched the movie but it was a fun little picnic in the sand. We were going to have a bonfire but ended up passing out early. We woke up the next morning and headed to the pool to enjoy some rays.

I headed home in the later afternoon Saturday and did some party shopping with my mom. Since our gender reveal party is this coming weekend I wanted to make sure this week we don't have too much to do. I'm already getting a little stressed running out of time! I really only have Tuesday (today) and Wednesday to do anything for it because my mom's birthday dinner is on Thursday, and Friday evening I will be going to Dodger stadium with my husbands family to support the high school team my husband coaches for.  So time is running out!

Before my mom and I went shopping for the day, we of course had to stop for some breakfast at Kimmie's! So yummy!

On Sunday, my mom and I continued the party shopping, placing the order for sandwiches and cupcakes, and got the little things we needed. In the later afternoon was my friend from High School's Baby Shower. It was such a beautiful evening and the food was great! I of course had a virgin margarita. It was really fun seeing friends from high school and getting together with them!

Once Monday came around, I knew I needed to really get my butt in gear with the rest of the decorations and signage for the gender reveal. I woke up bright and early to get a head start and was able to pretty much finish the decorations! I went over to my parents to lay out and spend some time with them. My husband met up with us later and we had a nice rib dinner. I started feeling like I've been getting a cold, so let's hope that clears up before the party this upcoming weekend! This mama doesn't have time to be sick!

Ellen's Mother Day Show Recap

If you've been following me along on Instagram or Facebook, then you know I was one of the lucky ones to be chosen to attend the Ellen Show for her Mother's Day special! (P.S. it aired May 11th, 2017) - I also posted a few of the photos and links on my Pinterest Board for this show!

I was so ecstatic when I received the email from Ellen that I was invited to be an audience member! I literally cried tears of happiness. In the email, it let us know to bring a Large vehicle so we made sure we came prepared! My mom and I drove the truck out to Burbank early in the morning and spent some time with my aunt who lives less than a mile away from the Warner Brother Studios. We knew we would hit some traffic with the work commuters since it was a Wednesday so we wanted to make sure we got to her house early in case we had any issues.  My friend was chosen to go to the show as well and met us at my aunts house before.

My friend and I went to grab some lunch before we had to check-in for the show. We parked, got our Ellen parking pass, and walked around the corner to the cutest Italian restaurant called Ciao Cristina. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend it! It was very good and they had some great options! My friend and I both ordered off the lunch menu; I ordered the Pizza Pocket which was served with pasta salad, and let me tell you... it hit the spot!
We knew it was going to be a long day so we wanted to fill our bellies so we weren't starving, especially while pregnant.

After lunch we got in line and checked in. Then the waiting game began. We got picked to be interviewed, but didn't get chosen, I'm still not sure what it was for because they never did anything with the girls who got picked.  We waited for them to call our numbers to cross the street into the studio.

It was a pretty quick process once we crossed the street, and went through the security line. We walked through the Ellen shop and of course they had some Ellen onesies lined up for sale. They were cute! I should have bought one! But I didn't want to carry it around before the show.

They had food set out for all the Mom-to-Be's, which they normally do not have for their regular shows, so that was a nice touch for the Mother's Day special! Once we got into the theater they gave us our seats. (Middle, 7th row back!) They got us amped up for the show, did some pregnancy dancing with the ladies, and had a few dance contests. It was really fun!

On the show, they started off with some gifts in the very beginning, and moved on to introduce the pickle guy, a sexy "Dr." with a delivery room, and an actual EMT in case anyone went into labor (There were TWO girls who were like a week away from giving birth!) The guests of the show were Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn. They were SO funny together!  If you missed the episode, you can watch clips from it here.

Ellen gave away SO many wonderful gifts to all the audience members! Here is what we received:

To view a list of all the goodies, you can check them out on her website here. (There's some fun discount codes you can get if you were interested in purchasing any of the items she gave away!)

I also had so many people watching that sent me screen shots of me they saw while watching Ellen! I loved getting those! So thank you if you were one who sent them to me!

Did you watch the Mother's Day episode? What was your favorite item Ellen gave away?

Over the weekend I was able to get a ton of orders out for Mother's Day Delivery! I think we boxed over 33 this weekend! So Friday and Saturday  I was exhausted and was able to relax a bit on Sunday. We bought a new fridge for our garage and went out to dinner with some friends. We went to WoodRanch and I ordered ribs with mac and cheese and a baked potato. (And of course they have THE best bread! It was so good and so satisfying! I am still craving it! After dinner we decided to get some dessert and tried this place out called AFTERS ice cream.  I got some churro ice cream and topped it with cinnamon french toast. It was delicious!

The Bump Diaries | Week 16-17

Over the weekend my mom and I started venue shopping for my baby shower. Since we are hosting the shower in August, I knew I wanted it to be indoors and my moms house would be too squishy with that many people inside. Also having it at a venue will make it so much easier for us. We won't have to set anything up or clean up after so that's a huge plus! We had an appointment at one golf course and ended up hating it so we started feeling like we weren't going to have any luck. We drove on a whim to another one by my moms house and fell in love with it that we booked it right away. It's so pretty and has a nice view in the room so it will be stunning!

Since we found the venue so quickly, I was able to enjoy the rest of my weekend! My hubby and I were able to head down to Temecula (known for their wineries) with our friends who were having a chili cookoff. I did try some chili, if you can remember chili has not sounded good at all, but I tried some and didn't get sick so that's a plus! It was a fun turnout and nice to get out of the house for a change.  Then on Sunday we had friends over to hang out by the pool and then BBQ'd that evening. It was a nice fun filled weekend! Now on to the Bump Diaries.

Due Date: October 2, 2017

Size of Baby:
Week 16 -Avocado  (4.5  inches)
Week 17 - Turnip  (5 inches)

Symptoms: I've been feeling really good! With more energy to get things done, this is the best!

Eating Mostly: Smoothies, & craving Hot cheetos.
Can't stand: Steak, Shrimp, Garlic. (still!)

Gender: We are finding out next week! May 9th , BUT having the Dr. put it in an envelope because we decided to bump up our gender reveal party and give the envelope to my friend to help plan the Surprise! I ordered these gender reveal baseballs from Gender Reveal Parties (one of each color so she can give us the correct one to use!)  We will be heading to the ball field to toss and hit the ball so we can see what the gender is! I am so excited! Our theme is "Baseball or Bows?"

I also just ordered the invitations for our party!
Normally I would design it myself but I have been so swamped with my Etsy shop orders that I just don't have the time right now! (I had to block out the address and phone number so don't worry! It's not a mistake! hehe
Ordered from: Magical Invitations

Can you tell I love shopping on Etsy? I love supporting other Etsy shops!

Movement: Still no movement.. too soon!

Nursery: Waiting until after May 10th so I can see what items Ellen gives away at her show!
Maternity Clothes: Been most comfortable in leggings, maternity jeans, and dresses. I attempted to wear my two piece bathing suit this weekend and let's just say that's not even an option anymore. Also officially grew out of my bra so I will need to shop for a new one.

Sleep: Still no complaints. I have been able to sleep through the nights.

Mood: Been in a good mood for the most part.  Little things bother me, but I have been trying to stay more calm and let things go.

Looking forward to: This month! So many exciting things happening! Gender appointment, Ellen Show, + my friends baby shower!
