Weekend Recap

Good morning and Happy Monday lovies!  It's time for another Weekend Recap!  I am co-hosting with Bella from Bella and The City!

Friday evening we kept it pretty low key and I processed a few orders before starting out the weekend.

On Saturday,  I had one of my best girlfriends color my hair and then we went out for lunch after at one of my favorite sandwich shops!  It's called Stefano's and boy are they good!  We each got our own salads, and shared a cucumber side salad as well as a rice salad.  I brought my hubby home a delicious sandwich.  After a late lunch I started getting ready for the night and head into town at my favorite line dancing bar called The Ranch.  We had too much fun! I love that place!

On Sunday I slept in till about 11, and got ready to head to brunch with my cousin and husband.  My hubby went golfing with my cousins husband and we met them for a brunch on the golf course after.  It was delicious and such a beautiful day out.  I of course had a Bloody Mary to start, and ordered the seared ahi salad.   It was pretty much heaven on earth!

How did you spend your weekend? I'd love to hear!

Royal Design Studio Review

Royal Design Studio contacted me to test out one of there fabulous stencils.  Heck-friggen-YES I am interested!  I have always been a lover of stencils and when I was contacted I couldn't have been more excited!  Since I recently started my Etsy business in October of 2014, I needed a safe keeping for my supplies! (That and I really needed to start organizing my life!)  I am so excited to share with you my project that I am so proud of!  I chose to refurbish my original nightstand and transform it into a cute workstation that matched the theme colors of my office:: Tiffany Blue.

I chose the Small Tangier Lattice Stencil from the Moroccan Stencils Collection.    I have been obsessed with Moroccan designs for the past year and the Tangier Lattice Stencil was the perfect fit for my office!  I chose Tiffany blue paint for my nightstand and white for the stencil design overlay.

My nightstand was originally my grandparents and my parents had it repainted about 10 years ago.  Over time, the paint on my nightstand started to get funky as I placed beverage glasses on it over the years, so it was time for an updated look!  We had to place a lot of our belongings in storage last year and these little rusty looking circles developed on top of the nightstand.  Gross right?  Let's just say.. it was time.

1]]

I started by sanding down the top layer of the nightstand and worked my way to the front and sides.  It took me a good hour or so to sand it to where I wanted it to.  Then I smoothed out the top so the paint would go on even.   (I purchased my paint from Home Depot, and they mixed up the color I wanted and were very helpful on how much paint I needed.  I probably only spent about $6 on paint and they mixed the primer right in with the paint.)

2]]

After sanding it all down, I started applying a primer.  (I used the spray kind-- it was so easy! AND it dried within minutes!)

3]]

Once the primer dried, I began painting the Tiffany Blue color onto my nightstand.  Simple as that.  I used the same brushstrokes throughout the whole nightstand.  It only took a few hours to dry and then I did one more layer of paint to make sure it was perfect. (Looks better already doesn't it?)

4]]
I let the paint dry overnight to make sure it was completely dry before using my Small Tangier Lattice Stencil. I got my white wood paint and taped my stencil down where I wanted it to lay.  I started by dabbing the white paint within the holes of the stencil and slowly worked my way from one side to the other.  I made sure to paint two layers of white while my stencil was still taped down.
(Side note- I spray painted a glass prior to this project so that's why the stencil is black!

Once it was dry, it was ready for me to put it to use in my home office!  I love how it turned out! It makes the perfect addition to my office and is a constant reminder of happiness! (Since I did this project all by myself!)

I lined the inner drawer with a cabinet liner (found in the kitchen section at Bed Bath and Beyond).

The stencil was so easy to use and made my dresser beautiful and unique!  It looks so cute in my office amongst the matching magnet board and cork board!  Plus it fits most of my crafts for my Etsy shop.  (Make sure to stop by sometime and follow my Etsy account on Instagram.)

In the meantime, make sure to check out Royal Design Studios Flickr page. It contains inspiration and project ideas. (The inspiration makes me want to do another project!)

Weekend Recap

Hey loves!  I am so sad the weekend is over!  I spent both Saturday and Sunday on the beaches in California and man was it hot!  It got up to 96 degrees... FOR MARCH!  Insanity!

Saturday we spent the day at the beach, and it ended up going into the night... bar hopping, dinner and such.

Sunday we took our fur babies to the dog beach and let them socialize with the other pooches!  So cute!

Chewy Dental Health Treats

Did you know that if your dog has bad breath, it could be a sign serious health risk with the potential to damage not only your pet's teeth and gums but its internal organs too.  I know all dogs get bad breath here and there, but there are many ways you can help maintain good oral health for your furry friend.  Being a pet parent is one of the best things in life, and making sure they are healthy and happy is one of my number one goals!

Chewy reached out to me to introduce Pet Dental Awareness and offered some great treats for my dogs.  We tried the Blue Buffalo Blue Bones - Dental Chews, and boy did my two LOVE them!  Not only do they help maintain and freshen their breath, but it also was filled with fiber to help regulate their digestive functions!  A few of the other positives of Blue Buffalo Dental Chews is they are filled with:
  • Glucosamine and chondroitin - which promotes good joint health
  • Taurine supports the heart and guards against cardiovascular disease
  • Vitamin A, C, and E supplements boost the immune system
  • Calcium from alfalfa helps build strong bones
Those are all WIN-Wins in my book, plus my dogs absolutely LOVED them.   We also received TWO toys that my dogs kept fighting over.  ((They never want the one they are chewing on)) They tore those squeakers out real quick!  But nonetheless they loved all the products we were lucky to try out!

I was trying to get a few shots of them enjoying their new treats, but they ate them before I could even press the camera button!

I also attempted to get some action shot of them playing with their toys, and this is how that turned out:

Check out Chewy and learn more about their products.  You can sign up for Autoship and receive 20% off your order!  It makes life a lot easier with Chewy!
Now on to the fun part! Chewy is offering a GIVEAWAY for one of my lucky readers.
They have offered to GIVEAWAY an Assortment of Blue Buffalo treats for your furry friend.  GOOD LUCK!

Weekend Recap

Hope you had a fantastic weekend! I attended a Baby shower for my cousin and then went to my other cousins thrift shop they own called, Grandma's Attic.
If you watch Storage Wars and know who Ivy is, that's my cousin.  He's been bidding on storage units for as long as I can remember.  So they had a big auction Saturday and my husband helped out and I met with them after the shower.
I ended up having the worst headache but we went to dinner at a Mexican restaurant and then we went home.
With the time change, it was so hard to wake up Sunday and Monday!

So that's pretty much my weekend all summed up.  Sorry for the rambles, but I'm in a bit of a rush this AM!

If You Didn't Already Know

If you didn't already know, I've been somewhere between a writers block and extremely busy with my Etsy shop.  I haven't found the time or the inspiration to come up with posts for my blog, and I really just kind of left it for weeks and weeks.  Although I am not fully back again, I am working on ideas and time management. (Any of you have some tips on time management?)  I really need to manage my time better, so if you have suggestions, please hollaa at me!

In the meantime, between my random busy lifestyle,  spending quality time with my husband and two fur babies, working on order for my shop, and trying to figure out why the heck there are not more hours in a day, here's what is on my mind currently...

I am Currently..

Watching || Criminal Minds, Nashville, Pretty Little Liars, Big Bang Theory, Stalker.
My weekly routine. Seriously obsessed.  Two years ago I didn't care to watch TV.  Now I can't wait till the next episode comes on!  What are your favorite shows?

Loving || The Britney Spears station on Pandora. I've been so busy working on orders and trying to catch up, and listening to this really pumps me up!  It's my major Go-To right now. (And I'm not gonna lie, I change it to the Frozen Disney Pandora station too, it's soothing okay!)

Craving || Healthier food.  I've been so awful the past few months, I think my body is trying to tell me to eat better.  Diet starts tomorrow! (I'm pretty sure I've been saying this for months)

Wishing || It was summer.  I mean, Not gonna lie, the weather has been ridiculously warm for February.  But I really want all the Summer activities to happen, right MEOW.

Wanting || My ankle to feel better.  After my episodes of falling two weekends ago(February), it's been hurting.  I know I'm a klutz, because I literally fell so many times, I don't even know why.  When I went to the Dr. to check on my healing broken hand (From January), there were signs all over with "Fall Prevention Tips."  I couldn't stop laughing.   This is so not my year so far.

Needing || To deep clean my house, do laundry, put laundry away, and seriously organize my home and life, ASAP.

Vegas Weekend Recap

So my gal pals and hubby and I drove to Vegas for a last minute getaway weekend!  We had too much fun!   So I rolled my ankle the pervious weekend (at a wedding) and was so nervous to walk in heels. (Probably a bad idea anyways), but luckily I survived!

We started off at the MGM and went to Hakkasan where #DADALIFE DJ'd which was pretty rad.  There were bananas and pillow fights.   Random yes, fun yes!

We took a photo with a Banana shortly after leaving the club (The girl had to hold it, she didn't trust us haha)

We ended up at the hotel around 6 am, tooka  nap till 10:30 and went on to the next day.
Started off at the PBR bar with breakfast, and many drinks.

We continued the day drinking and walking around the strip.  My husbands friends live in Vegas so they met up with us later in the evening for some drinks and gambling.

(To be continued with photos shortly)
