Weekend Recap

Good morning! Hope you all had a great weekend! I sure did!  I am co-hosting with Bella from Bella And The City for our weekly weekend recap!

This weekend, my husband and I headed out to the river to enjoy the sunshine! We spent the day on the beach and took our pups to the water.  They had too much fun, but I think it got a little too hot as the temperature was 111 degrees +.  I had my mom come pick them up and we hung out the rest of the day.

That night we started off by having some fancy Tie Dye Margaritas at our favorite Mexican restaurant and then went to a country bar.

The next morning (or afternoon ha!) Let's just say once we finally woke up we went to take the dogs to the lake and realized our car battery died. So that changed all plans and we gave up going to the water and went to lunch instead before hitting the road.  We stopped by Wendy's to grab a drink and being an adopted child, their cups really hit home.    Wendy's is donating $5 to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption each time the hashtag #share4adoption is used with a photo of your hand completing the heart with one of their cups (on social media).   There are over 100,000 kids waiting in foster care to find their forever homes. You can learn more about it here.

Goodbye, My Sweet Friend

Sunday, June 21, 2015 (Father's Day).  I was told by my father that we may have to put our sweet German Shephard down.  She was always so lively and loyal but her back hips were starting to give out on her to the point where she would fall to the ground.  My father told me it would most likely happen this week.

Thursday, June 25, 2015.  I went to pick up my two dachshunds from my parents house after work and noticed the sheets that were once on my parents living room floor (to keep the rug clean due to 3 dogs constantly on them), were no longer there.  I looked around in the backyard to see where Heidi may be.  Since my parents were heading up to the river I thought maybe she was at the kennel.  When I asked my dad where she was, he grabbed the remote to mute the TV and told me that he put our sweet Heidi down on Tuesday. My mom came in the room to say, "Lisa, I thought we told you we were going to have to put her down."  I thought I'd at least get a warning, or a message from my parents letting me know what day they were going to take her in so I could at least say one last goodbye.  I didn't feel like she was ready to go just yet. I don't know if it was me being in denial that the dog I grew up with since I was in High School was in her last days, or what, but I did not feel that she was ready to go just yet.  She still had a lot of life left in her despite her hips giving out on her.  She didn't seem to be in pain.

Heidi helped me through all my breakups, all the heartache that high school brought on, and was my companion into adulthood. She loved to swim, and had my parents trained because she would wait for them to tell her to go to the bathroom.  She was funny, clumsy, and full of love. She started off as the puppy from hell, from chewing on literally everything and being crazy aggressive to becoming one of the sweetest dogs I knew.  As big as she was, she was a huge teddy bear.  I still remember picking her up from the breeder, carrying her in my arms all the way home.  She never truly knew how big and strong she was because I remember laying out in the backyard and for some reason she though she was a lap dog and would lay across me.  She was too heavy for me to lift her off me, so I just let her lay and enjoy the sunshine.  I remember teaching her to swim, and from that day on she fell in love with the water.  It was hard to keep her out of the pool.

I don't know if I am more angry or sad that I didn't find out until two days later.
I wish I could give you one last goodbye, one last hug, and take one last swim with you.

RIP Heidi girl, you were a princess, loveable, a beast, but so full of love.  I will miss you dearly.

Weekend Recap

Good morning! I hope you all had a great Father's Day weekend!
On Friday I hustled out Etsy orders so I could have a relaxing weekend.
On Saturday, my husband and I ran a million errands and decided to crash a wedding.

Yes, you heard that right, the#weddingcrashers hashtag was the name of the game.  So some of our friends were in a wedding, and we just met the two getting married 2 weeks prior.  We joked that we were going to crash their wedding but didn't really believe it was going to happen.  However, IT HAPPENED.   We waited until after the reception dinner to attend, and snuck in with the groom since he knew us.  We had too much fun.

One of my friends caught the large panties (not the garter) thrown towards him. hahaha
So he decided to wear them over his pants..

Then the garter was thrown and someone caught that! haha

We ended up at Taco bell later that evening and I fell asleep in my dress.  The next morning was most definitely the WALK OF SHAME.

So Sunday,  was Father's Day of course, and I bought some New York steaks, corn on the cob, baked beans, and salad and BBQ'd everything for my parents.  We spent the day at their house.  It was a lovely day :)

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday lovies! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! I still cannot believe JUNE is here!
On Friday I spent the night hustling out orders from my etsy shop.

You can now find this adorable bridal set in my shop for only $18 shipped!

Saturday I finished up the rest of the orders and my mom helped me organize our newly remodeled kitchen!  She was seriously so helpful, I didn't even know where to begin.  She then helped me package the rest of my etsy stuff to ship out!  Later that evening, my husband and I met up with a few friends to have dinner.  We went to Lonestar and had the best time!

On Sunday I worked on more orders and thought this mug was perfect. #Bosslady
I finished up cleaning the living room and kitchen and replanted some tomato plants!

I finally cooked dinner in our new kitchen.
