A list of top 5-10 things that make you happy.

 Read the list of prompts here if you'd like to join in!

1. Family
Reason: They are always there for me, through thick and thin.  They don't judge me and always have open ears and open arms.

2. Fiance & Friends
Reason: My fiance is always there for me, no matter what.  He has the biggest heart. Loves me for me, even on my rare terrible days.
My friends because they are amazing.  They are always there to listen, and make me laugh.

3. Country Music
Reason: Country music is my outlet.  It makes me happy.  I love the meaning behind the songs.  I also love love love line dancing.  There's just something about it that really hits home for me.

4. Typography
Reason: Being a graphic designer, there is something about typography that really makes me happy.  When I see good typography and lettering I get excited. {type nerd}
I also am obsessed with crafting. So this can be in the typography category because I usually include typography & lettering in my crafts!

5. Starbucks
Reason: Something about getting that cup o joe is soothing.  The way it feels in your hand and when it touches your lips.  {haha- Starbucks addict for sure}

Inspire Me 2014: Day 5

Inspire Me 2014: Day 5
{Linkup with Kristen & Myself}
What are some Random Acts of Kindness you’d like to accomplish this year?

In June, I wrote about Random Acts of Kindness and included some lovely ideas and inspiration.

I've always been the type to try to make at least one persons day every day. Whether it be a simple smile, or a gesture.  It's the little things that make all the difference.
I wrote about when I went to our mail-room and found a bag full of non-perishable groceries with a note that said "Please take what you need. God Bless."
I thought it was such a nice gesture that they didn't just toss everything like they so easily could have.  After this finding, I went to my closet and pulled out clothes I no longer needed, put them in a bag, and set them in the mail-room myself.  It made me feel really good knowing someone else could use the items I had and no longer needed.

This year I plan to do a whole lot more. I have always wanted to pay for the car behind me in a drive-thru, or put quarters in an envelope and tape to a vending machine.  I've been wanting to get a group of bloggers who would be interested in getting items to send to the troops.  If you are interested, you can contact me here.  I'll be getting everything together within the next few months and would love for some help!  (More details later) It would make someones day.  You don't necessarily have to "spend" a ton of money to do these random acts, you can make something handmade, get creative!

Weekend Recap

www.showeredwithdesign.blogspot.com

It's that time again for Weekend Recap!
 I'm co-hosting with the lovely Bella from Dateless in Dallas.

This weekend I..

Friday Night - I was extremely lame because I came down with a bad cold last week and all I wanted to do was take Nyquil and pass out!  So my fiance and I grabbed dinner, watched a movie and I clocked out by like 9:30pm.  I have never in my life gone to bed THAT early.

Saturday Day- During the late afternoon I attended my cousins going away party. He is going away to be in the Air Force.  They had a taco truck (omg my fav!) and it was really nice to see alot of my family.  (I'll need to upload those photos ASAP)

Saturday Night - I went with a few of my friends to a country line dancing bar.  It is so much fun!  I love getting my dance on!

Sunday -My besties came over to go over bridal shower plans and talk about bachelorette plans.  We got alot done thankfully!  After planning we went to a late lunch and had Bloody Mary's that we were craving!

My friend J helped me make this banner for my Bridal Shower.  It was such an easy and fun project, I need to post a DIY very soon!  I'll be making a few more for my shower.

Overall I had a lovely weekend, and I feel a lot better after being sick last week.

& If you are part of the Inspire Me Blog Challenge 2014 with Kristen and I,
The prompt for today is  What changes were made in 2013 to better yourself, or what changes will you make in 2014 to better yourself.

 My answer would be simple:
Be kinder to others &  Eat healthier.  Both are on the top of my list at all times, and I think I do pretty well at it, but there's always room for improvement.  Afterall, no one is perfect

 Now it's your turn to recap your weekend!

What Did You Do For New Years?

Today is our first day of Inspire me 2014!  I am so excited to share this series with Kristen from Happiness is a Mood Not a Destination!  Today's question is simple, we thought it would be a great way to start with something easy, especially because I am sure your brain is still recovering from your New Years festivities.

Today's question:

What did you do for New Years?
I spent my New Years at one of my best friends house with her husband, my fiance, and some of her friends and family.  It was so wonderful to share it with people we care about.
I made my delicious 7 layer dip, and it was gone so fast! It definitely was a hit!

I found out my bestie is pregnant with her first child, so she had the pleasure of drinking apple cider.  I of course had Vodka, Seagrams 7, and some Coronas.
 I had such a hard time staying awake past twelve, I think we ended up falling asleep around 1 am.  The next morning we cooked breakfast and my girlfriend and I worked on some crafts for my bridal shower!  It was the best way to celebrate New Years Day!
Fun & Getting it done!

The start of some crafts:

Then for lunch we had In & Out.  Seriously Amazing.
I ended up catching a cold.  I knew it would happen, my nose has been terrible the past week and my throat felt dry.  So it was bound to happen.
But, overall it was a great New Years, despite catching a cold.
I am so excited to see what 2014 has to bring &
I am so excited this is the year I marry my best friend!
Now it's your turn to answer the question:
What did you do for New Years?

Grab the button, link back to our blogs (Showered With Design) and (Happiness Blog) and share your New Years with us!

NYE

Happy New Years Eve everyone! I cannot believe it's going to be 2014, the year I will marry my best friend.   That is so crazy to think about! All this planning and time has gone by so fast, our wedding day will be here before we know it!  My wonderful coordinator wrote a blog post about us and our engagement photos.  You can check it out here.

In honor of the New Year, New beginnings, and all the changes that come along with it, I have coordinated with Happiness is a Mood Not a Destination to bring to you our:

"Inspire Me 2014" Blog Challenge!

We totally understand that coming up with blog-worthy topics on a daily basis can be rough at times, so we created a list of topics that may spark some imagination!  We thought it would be a fun way to start off the New Year!

Rules:
Really, who likes rules?  I mean they are great every once in a while, but we don't feel a need to have set rules to follow. Take these topics and run with them! We want you to enjoy blogging as much as we do without the added pressure of coming up with a topic!
Heck, even make some new friends out of it!

Please take one of the buttons below if you'd like! Place it on your sidebar or in your post, do as you please! Otherwise, please link both our names in your post. {Showered With Design} & {Happiness Isn't a Destination}

We've left the weekends up to you. Topics have been set for weekdays only. We feel weekends should be spent relaxing and enjoying
time with friends and family!
 (Or taking care o' business that you don't have time to do during the week)

Don't feel as if you have to make every single post this month. Please write about things you normally would, if you wish! If you want to skip a day, no big deal! Feel free to make it up on a weekend or not at all.

Everyday we'll have a linkup section so you can link up your posts and visit other fellow bloggers.

The topics we have come up with are fun, serious and creative. Take them however you want. There isn't a right or wrong way to do them! Just start writing and see where your imagination takes you!
