Inspire Me 2014: Day 15

Happy Thursday! For a second I thought it was Friday and I was really excited until I realized it wasn't.  Anyways, It's day 15 of the Inspire Me Blog Challenge, hosted by and Kristen and myself!

Today's topic:
Thursday, January 23: Many new babies have been introduced into the blogging world in the last year. Tell us about one of the funniest moments you've had with them.
You know, I haven't really been introduced to any new babies recently.  However, this upcoming weekend I am attending a Baby Shower.  I guess that's the closest to a baby that I will come in contact with until she is born.
I do have many moments being a kid that I do cherish.  Some are funny and some are not.
Here are some I can remember from the top of my head:

1. I broke my wrist the summer before 1st grade.

How? Well, being the dork that I am, I was dancing on a step-stool and lost my balance.  I fell and hit my wrist hard on a table.  I never cried once. I just screamed at the top of my lungs and ran upstairs to my mom.  She immediately rushed me to my doctor where they told me I broke several little bones in my wrist. Luckily I didn't have to go to school with a broken wrist because it was summer.  However, I couldn't go swimming which was a bummer.
The best part of the story is when I got home, my friend bought me a Barbie to make me feel better.  I almost wanted to break something else to get more presents! haha I kid!

2. I went to Hawaii for my 5th Birthday.

I remember being picked up from Kindergarten to head to the airport.  You see, my Birthday is also my parents Anniversary.  I never thought much about their Anniversary, I was more focused on my Birthday.  I also probably didn't really understand what an anniversary was when I was 5.  I remember little bits and pieces of Hawaii like swimming with dolphins, it being warm, and eating a huge chocolate cake.  I also remember going to a Luau where I apparently danced alot. Since then I have been to Hawaii 5 times.

3. Hiding in the mall.

I remember going to the mall with my parents and hiding in between the clothing racks.  Who didn't do this as a kid? I remember doing it all the time. One time my parents kept trying to find me and said they were leaving.
I remember freaking out thinking they were actually leaving me.

4. Being locked in a restaurants restroom.

Technically I wasn't locked in.  I thought I was.
So there was a super narrow hallway leading into the restroom.
My parents and I were vacationing in Florida I wanna say I was in 1st or 2nd grade, prior to me breaking my arm.  I went to the restroom by myself, and when I was on my way out I kept pushing on the door.  It wasn't opening. I started to panick. I kept pushing and pushing and it wouldn't open. I thought I was stuck in this tiny little bathroom all alone.  I started screaming for help.  Finally one of the employees came and opened the door and my mom came running over after realizing it was probably me.  I found out later that the door said "pull." I was so embarrassed and my parents said everyone in the restaurant heard screaming but wasn't sure where it was coming from.  To this day my dad still tells this story. haha I laugh now.  And now I know to read the door when I walk out.

Inspire Me 2014: Blogger Challenge

Co-hosting with Kristen, and the prompt for today is..
January 22: What are some personal goals you’d like to work on this year?

My goals for this year are to eat better, create meal plans for at least 4 days out
of the week, and exercise more regularly.

Last night, I started working out with my fiance.  He's my personal trainer so he showed me what to do, how many, and really pushed my limits.  Lets just say, I haven't worked out in a long long time, and he really forced me to get a good workout.  It sucked at the time, but I am very motivated and driven and wanted to exceed what he told me to do.  My pre-workout meal was oatmeal and bananas.

I've found that eating at least 1 hour before a workout , prevents low blood sugar (which leads to light-headedness and fatigue.)  The only reason I felt light headed was because my iron is low, and fatigued because I never workout.  But I don't like giving up.
I'll push through it!

Now, what are some personal goals you'd like to work on this year?

Weekend Recap & Inspire Me 2014: Day 8

It's time for that weekend recap!
Linking up &  co-hosting with Bella from Dateless in Dallas

Friday night: The fiance came home from Vegas after being at CES, and we had our first "date night" after a long while.  We went to BJ's for dinner and then saw the movie Anchorman 2.  We've been wanting to see it for forever, but never had the chance or opportunity to go.  We also don't go to the movies that often.  The movie got out at about 11PM, and we were so exhausted.  We had the hardest time keeping our eyes open. What is wrong with us. Mid twenties, tired by 11.
WE. ARE. OLD.   le sigh

Saturday: I went shopping with my mom at our local mall.  Do you ever have those days where you don't feel like getting ready and all cutesty?  For me, I just didn't feel like taking all the time to do my makeup and hair, so I threw it in a pony tail, I half-assed my makeup and guess what happened?  I ran into literally everyone and their mom at the mall.  Figures.
Anyways, I had my Michael Kors watch links taken out finally! So now I can wear it yay! I also got a clear lining protectant put over my ipad screen so I can't scratch it!  Not that I would, but it's extra precaution!
We had a late lunch at Lazy Dog Cafe and I wasn't even hungry for dinner later!

Saturday Night: We took it easy, changed into our jammies by 8pm, and watched the movie American Hustle at home.  We still couldn't stay awake the entire movie.  We really need to get our Shhtuff together!

Sunday: My mom and I headed back to the mall so she could get the protectant screen put on her ipad.  She also bought some cutesy boots.  We went to lunch at CPK and went home for a nap! I watched the I am Britney Jean documentary.  Gosh, I love her.  I don't care what anyone says.  She's one of my favs. I cannot wait to see her this summer in Vegas! Whoo hoo! I made my mom and I a healthy chicken dinner with delicious zuccini, salad, tomatoes and avocado! YUM!

Now it's time for you to link up!

and if you are stopping by for the Inspire Me 2014 Blog Challenge, I am co-hosting with Kristen, today's prompt is:
What is your best advice for the New Year?

I'd have to say my best advice for this year is to appreciate the little things in life because life is too short.
Also to stay true to yourself and reach for your goals! Because you never know what tomorrow will bring.

Inspire Me 2014: Day 7

Inspire Me 2014 Blog Challenge: Day 7  {Co host- Kristen}
Read the list of prompts here if you'd like to join in at any time!

“The Side of Me Nobody Knows” {write down 2 or 3 secrets that no one knows about}

1.  I cannot fall asleep without the TV sound on.

2. I need at least 8 hours of sleep. 8 solid hours. (If not more) or I am too tired to function.

3.  I don't like breakfast food.
When at "breakfast" I order a sandwich, tacos, or steak. I just find it to be boring. I'm weird. I know.

4. I don't like desserts.  I just don't like sweet stuff.
I'd rather have a plate of fruit or vegetables than a cookie or cake.

5.  I feel uncomfortable going to the grocery store alone.  Not that I don't ever do it, because I do very often. I just feel really awkward for some reason, and have a harder time finding what I need. I have absolutely no idea why. But I have always been that way.

6. I never set my alarm clock for 6:30.  It has to be 6:22, 6:24, or some random number.  Also when I meet up with friends/family, I always say see you at 6:46!
Because who is really ever there at 6:45?  No one!

7.  I smile without even realizing it.

8.  I hate planning certain things too far in advanced.  I'm better at last minute plans (Except vacationing- then I like to plan ahead)

9. I never keep a balance on my credit card. I freak out, and pay it as soon as it shows up in my account.

10. I can't take shots. Like straight alcohol. My body just doesn't do it. I can't even drink water that fast.  I can, however take mixed shots,  I'm just very slow at taking them. Slow as in like twenty minutes later, "Lisa finished her shot!!"

11. I'm obsessed with country line dancing and country music.  It makes me a better person, I swear.

12. I'm weird.  I may look normal, but I am pretty weird.  Life is too short to try and be perfect.
I dance in the middle of stores when I'm with my friends.  I dance to my dogs.
I sing terribly at the top of my lungs.
The list can go on.. and on..

13. If I ever owe anyone money, I pay them right away.  I can't stand "owing" someone. I'd rather get it over with.  I hate when others don't do the same, especially when I keep asking about it.  It just bothers me and I hate not being even or "fair".

14. I'm a pretty competitive person.  Yes of course I'll act innocent and as if it doesn't bother me, but when it comes down to it,
I need to win.

15. I want children, but I feel really weird and don't know how to act around kids.
I have never changed a diaper in my life or been around someone while they change a diaper.

16. I am an only child, and I was adopted by the most loving parents in the world.

17.  I can out eat anyone.  Well, pretty close.  People are shocked when they see me eat, and ask where I put it.  Honestly, I have no idea.

18. I can't stand to see animals hurt.  Especially when those commercials come on, I get really sad.
I don't get as sad when I see the ones with people.  I do still feel sad, just I feel more sad when I see the animals. I swear I'm not heartless, I just feel so bad because the animals don't
understand and are helpless.

19. I haven't read a book since High School. 2006.  I never enjoyed reading.

20. I love saving money.  I get a joy knowing I didn't need that $17 shirt.

21.  I have a really bad memory. I can remember things I did YEARS ago, but I can't remember what I did last night.  I really have to think deep about it.

22. I love Starbucks, but I don't like their "regular coffee."  It's too bitter.

23. I love Chipotle.  Mmm my mouth waters just thinking about it.

24. I'm very adventurous.  I love driving fast, I wan't to go sky diving, and love trying new things. I don't get scared easily about things.  I'll try anything once.  Except drugs. That's a no- go for me.

Have a Great Weekend! Hope to see you all for our Weekend Recap on Monday!

Also, linking up for my first time with Darci for 5 of Friday (Even tho it's 24.. lol)

1. Family
Reason: They are always there for me, through thick and thin.  They don't judge me and always have open ears and open arms.

2. Fiance & Friends
Reason: My fiance is always there for me, no matter what.  He has the biggest heart. Loves me for me, even on my rare terrible days.
My friends because they are amazing.  They are always there to listen, and make me laugh.

3. Country Music
Reason: Country music is my outlet.  It makes me happy.  I love the meaning behind the songs.  I also love love love line dancing.  There's just something about it that really hits home for me.
