Weekend Recap

Good morning! Hope you all had a great weekend! I sure did!  I am co-hosting with Bella from Bella And The City for our weekly weekend recap!

This weekend, my husband and I headed out to the river to enjoy the sunshine! We spent the day on the beach and took our pups to the water.  They had too much fun, but I think it got a little too hot as the temperature was 111 degrees +.  I had my mom come pick them up and we hung out the rest of the day.

That night we started off by having some fancy Tie Dye Margaritas at our favorite Mexican restaurant and then went to a country bar.

The next morning (or afternoon ha!) Let's just say once we finally woke up we went to take the dogs to the lake and realized our car battery died. So that changed all plans and we gave up going to the water and went to lunch instead before hitting the road.  We stopped by Wendy's to grab a drink and being an adopted child, their cups really hit home.    Wendy's is donating $5 to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption each time the hashtag #share4adoption is used with a photo of your hand completing the heart with one of their cups (on social media).   There are over 100,000 kids waiting in foster care to find their forever homes. You can learn more about it here.

Weekend Recap

Hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Weekend!  I am co-hosting with Bella from Bella And The City for our weekly Weekend Recap!

My girlfriend and I headed to the river for the weekend to meetup with my husband and his friends.  The weather couldn't have been more perfect!  It was just warm enough to go in the water without feeling like your face and skin are burning off.
We stayed Friday night till Monday afternoon and had the BEST time.  We met new friends, and had way too much fun.

Saturday we drove around on the boat and went to a little cove to cool off and play some games for the day.

We tried wake surfing on Sunday morning before heading out, it was a little difficult to get up, but once I did it was easier!  Although I am so sore now!

After our wake surfing attempt,  we went to the sandbar to hang out for the day.  Let's just say there are some Cray crays around there!

Weekend Recap : Playing Catch up!

I'm still in the process of playing catch up after traveling to Nebraska to visit my husbands family last weekend.  We had THE BEST time and I absolutely love traveling out there.

We headed to the airport right after I got off work on Wednesday and flew into Denver International Airport.  We had to stop by  to rent a car to drive about 3.5 hours into Nebraska to my husbands Uncles ranch.  We got in about 3:30 am and went straight to bed!

My husband woke up bright and early to start ranching.  I slept in till about 8 am and went to his Uncles for some coffee and breakfast.

We hung out and then a bunch of us got on horses to move cattle into a different pasture.

It was so much fun, and there were about 35 horses out moving cattle. Being from California, I had never done anything like this before so I didn't really know what I was doing or what to expect.  But I had fun nonetheless.

After moving cattle to where we needed to, we rode the horses around for a while before having "supper," which is their lunch.  EVERY-TIME we go out there, they always cook the most amazing food.  And let me tell ya, there steaks are TO DIE FOR.  It just tastes better.

After "supper" was his cousins graduation party which was held in the "vet shack" on the ranch.  Over 100 people showed up and man did we party.  Wrestling matches were going on and balloon contests.  As well as fireball shots being passed around.

It started pouring really hard around 10 pm, and we thought we were going to be stuck in the vet shack till morning, but luckily it stopped by 1 and we went to bed around 2 am!

The next morning was the branding. ((Warning, graphics below may upset you))
It was a rough start to the morning because of the night before's activities and drinking shenanigans.  We got up and out the door to go to the branding around 9, and my husband decided to help while I watched.

After half of the branding, we had coffee and a quick breakfast before continuing with the rest of the cattle.  I even got to help my husband move the last set of calves from the barn!  They were so cute!

The rest of the day was spent lounging around, jumping on the trampoline with the neices and nephews and grubbing on the best food!  They seriously make the best homemade food.
Steak, cheesy hashbrown mashed potatoes, salad, asparagus, home-style potato wedge cuts, and all the desserts and treats you can think of!

The next day we drove by to see the day old baby horses! They were so cute!

We grabbed lunch with his grandparents on our way to the airport, and because his Uncle lives near the airport we grabbed dinner with them before heading on our flight!
We cannot wait to go back!

Our Honeymoon {Part 4}

If you missed Part 1 of our Honeymoon Recap, you can catch up here.
If you missed Part 2 of our Honeymoon Recap, you can catch up here.
If you missed Part 3 of our Honeymoon Recap, you can catch up here.

Sorry I'm finally getting down to finishing our Honeymoon recap. Better late than never!

On day three of our cruise we arrived in Antigua.  We decided to take on horse back riding with our new friends we met on the cruise.  We've been horse back riding before but not alongside the beach. (Which was pretty awesome)  It was beautiful outside.

The horse riding tour took us along the beach as well as in their villages.

The cool thing I noticed is that all the islands had their own cannons  right on the edge of the water with forts.  They were pretty neat to see because they were built a long time ago so it was cool to see part of the islands history.

I was excited when we were able to take the horses bareback [as I have never done that before ] and cool off in the water.  You could tell the horses loved it!

We also pulled off to the side to let the horses have a snack and rest.

It's so crazy how different the horses are compared to the ones in America.  Much skinnier.

We had so much fun riding horses, we decided to keep it pretty low key at night and went to a few comedy shows which ended up being hilarious.

Stay tuned, more honeymoon as well as wedding recaps are on their way soon!
