Our Honeymoon {Part 1}

Although I am very eager to recap our amazing wedding day, I would rather wait until we get our professional photos back and then share them with you. The few pictures that I have just don't do our wedding any justice! I figure I can work backwards by recapping our honeymoon followed by our wedding.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B and I wanted to plan our honeymoon and visit a destination we both had never been.  I knew I wanted to do something different and make cell phones unavailable to both of us.  We decided to take a Southern Caribbean cruise.  First we stayed at the Condado Hilton in San Juan, Puerto Rico for two days prior to our sail date.  Then we took a 7 day Royal Caribbean cruise.

Our cruise hit St. Croix, Philipsburg, St. Johns, Castries (St. Lucia), and Barbados and we had one day at sea.  I'll start this post by recapping our two day stay in San Juan.

We left on Wednesday evening on July 16 to LAX.  I enjoyed leaving late, because that meant I was able to sleep on the 5 and a half hour plane ride (overnight) to Miami where we hopped on another 2 and half hour plane ride to San Juan, Puerto Rico.  When we finally arrived at our hotel, we were able to check in right away and grab some food.

We didn't quite know what we were in store for.  We asked one of the security guards at the casino where the best local food was.  Of course, we were expecting to hear about Puerto Rico food, however, he was telling us that their Sizzler is different than in the States.  So we decided to give it a shot.  We walked all the way to the Sizzler down the street and unfortunately it was exactly like the Sizzlers in California (to which we never go to).

{Fun fact: The security guards daughter lives in the city near our home in California!  Random small world! }
After lunch, we headed back to our hotel to get ready for the pool.  Lucky for us the weather was gorgeous out with a very slight humidity.

After laying out for a few hours, dark clouds swarmed the skies and it started to sprinkle lightly.  Then all of a sudden it downpours.  I don't mind the rain one bit if it's warm out side, however, my now hubby strongly despises it.  So of course we had to get under cover and luckily that was under the bar area. {oh darn}

So we sat at the bar for a few hours enjoying each others company and gulping down buckets of beer.  We met a few guys who were in the navy in the UK and chatted with them for a while until we decided to head to the room for a quick nap before grabbing dinner that evening.  We stopped by a liquor store to grab some booze and sodas and hung out on our patio the rest of the evening enjoying each others time.

Being a goofball

 The next morning, we grabbed breakfast and then took a walk on the beach.
We came across a private beach and of course had to take a few pictures by it. {Would you expect anything less?}

Interesting buildings on our walk

We then made our way back to our hotel for some more pool time with drinks in hand of course, which is where we met our new friends!  They were recently engaged and have traveled to Puerto Rico once a year since they have been together. {Osiel & Cristal}

Osiel had actually lived in Puerto Rico when he was younger. Which was great, because he was able to show us around that evening!  While in the pool, we had several cocktails which lead us to meeting a group of guys from China and some of them now reside in New York.

We ended up getting ready for that night, we grabbed a few drinks from their room and woke up there friend who was passed out! We took them to into town where we ended up at a nightclub. They had the best time and were dancing machines!

When we got back to the hotel probably around 4am, and went to the casino at our hotel.

After the casino, we went down to the spa.  It was so nice to meet new people from all around the world, and we hope to keep in touch with them to plan more trips in the future!

Farewell San Juan! It is now time to head on our cruise.  Thanks for a good time!
{ Part 2 coming soon! }
