Who doesn't love giveaways? As soon as I became engaged, I literally signed up for as many giveaways I could find related to our wedding.

How great is that! I am so jealous, because I have been wanting one of these for myself for quite some time now!  I was secretly hoping to receive one at the bridal shower! Weekend Recap

I cannot believe it is officially mid June.  Where did the time go?

26 more days until I'm a Mrs.!  The best part is that we pretty much do not have much left to do before the wedding.  Just a few minor plans such as finalize seating chart (and print!), choose a few more songs, and really to just start organizing everything we need to take down to our venue.  It's coming so fast!

Friday evening I went over and finalized wedding plans.  We kept it low key, because I knew I had to wake up early the next morning.

Saturday morning I woke up bright and early to start looking at granite and tile.  Once we move in to our new home, we are going to upgrade the kitchen and a few of the bathrooms.

They had such great stuff, I just want to get it started already!

I noticed my engagement ring had a loose diamond in it so I had to take it in immediately after looking at granite and of course breakfast!  They were able to fix that right up and then cleaned, re-dipped and polished.   After we were done I had to pick up my bracelet that was getting repaired by Tiffany's.

We decided to go out Saturday evening with a few friends.  Always a good time.  We went to dinner at Slaters 50/50, and had a few drinks before we head out on the town.

Of course the night ended with Denny's.

Sunday we slept until noon and then went to the grocery store to buy food to cook my dad for dinner for Father's Day.  We marinated steaks, ribs, corn on the cob, and had au gratin potatoes (My favorito!!) .

My fiance and I layed out by the pool with Coronas in hand until it was time to cook dinner.

It was a wonderful weekend well spent! That is for sure!

Wedding Etiquette Part 2

I wish Wedding Etiquette was something they taught in school. Or better yet, Any Etiquette for that matter.  Planning a wedding can be quite stressful.  It can be even more stressful and frustrating when guests don't understand proper etiquette to begin with.

Here are a few tips one can only hope your guests will already know.  Or if you're lucky, maybe they'll do some research and stumble upon these tips.

One of the most frustrating thing for me about RSVPs is that people don't send them back in a timely manner.  It's highly frustrating because I despise procrastinating, and if I don't know who is coming for sure, I cannot proceed with my seating chart, and my venue does not have an exact head count of guests for food.  Not only does the venue not have a number of guests attending, but this means I do not know how many tables are needed if I do not have an exact head count. ( I could save a few hundred buckaroos using a larger table of 12, versus having a smaller table with only 7-8 seats, which in the long run means I could save on that linen, and centerpiece.)

Which results in my number one rule:

1.  RSVP on time! 

RSVP stands for "répondez, s'il vous plaît," which means "please reply."

Which leads me to my number two rule:

2. Do not write "Please RSVP" on your invitations.

3. Do not bring a guest unless the couple has indicated that you can- 

RSVP for the people that are listed on the invitation’s envelope only.

4.  Make sure to double check that you wrote your name on the RSVP card, legibly.

5. Leave the young kids at home, and enjoy your evening. 

 There is really no need to bring them unless they are in the wedding party.

Day of etiquette is very important.  

Don't stress the bride out anymore than she already is. Especially with the following:

  1. Don’t text or call the bride the day of the wedding explaining your issues or asking questions.

It's ok to text and say a quick "Can't wait, you are going to make a beautiful bride."  Other than that, save it for another date.

2.  The pretty sparkly plates at your place-setting? Those are chargers. They are not to be used as dinner plates. They are for the decor only!

3. Show up on time! 20-25 mins before the ceremony start time.  It's better to wait than to be late!

4.  Don’t come empty handed. Even the smallest gift is appreciated. If you are purchasing a gift, have it sent to the couples home instead of bringing it to the reception. Cards are always nice.

5. Stay out of the aisle during the ceremony!

6. Don't block the photographer to get "your photo." If you show up in the brides photos, she will not be happy about that.

5. Dress appropriately.  This is not Vegas, and it is not your time to "hoe it up."

Also, DO NOT wear white or cream!

6.  Bring sunglasses, a sweater, and if needed an umbrella.  You never know what the weather will be the day of!

1. Please remember that the bride and groom (and/or their parents) are paying for you to eat and drink. The best thing you can do is enjoy it!

2.  The couple wants you to dance and use the photo booth! And eat the candy from the candy bar!  Don't be shy to take the last handful of M&Ms!

3.  Please don’t leave with the centerpieces unless you’re told to do so. The vase is most likely rented and they will get charged a fee if they end up missing.

4. Get to the cocktail hour when it starts, and stay the full time.  Meet other people, socialize, these are the people who will be partying all night.

5. Don’t try to push your way into the reception because you’re ready to sit down. The bride and groom have a cocktail hour for a reason, and there is most likely a plan.  Respect that. It is not YOUR day.

Most of all, ENJOY your time!  This is a celebration of two lives joining together as one.  It is a very special time for the bride, groom and their families.

Also, feel special that you were invited, after all wedding are not cheap by any means, there is a reason you were included on this very special
 moment in their lives.

We Hit The 30 Day Mark

Oh my freakin gosh!! We have officially hit the 30 day mark until our wedding.
I am beyond ecstatic slash jumping insanely ALL at the same time.  We have had a wonderful year and 8 month engagement and I cannot believe that 30 days from today we will be hand in hand saying our "I do's" in front of all our friends and family.

I thought I would do a fun dedication in honor of it being 30 days away! A nice little photo reel of the two of us!

 We pretty much have all our planning checklist done. 
 We just have to finalize the seating chart, get that printed out and framed and have to get our stuff in a few boxes labeled for our coordinator.  Other than that we are pretty much all set and ready! Boom!

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday! I am co-hosting with Bella from Dateless in Dallas this morning for our WEEKEND RECAP!  Did anyone else have a difficult time waking up this morning?

I woke up confused, had no idea what day it was, and panicked!  Until I realized it was Monday, then I was very bummed. I still think we should always have 3 day weekends!

So.. Friday night I worked on the guestlist and seating chart.  That is probably the worst task I have dealt with thus far.  Well that, and trying to get all the RSVPs back in a timely manner!  Geesh people! Don't people know etiquette?? Apparently not.

I also worked on designing my girlfriends logo for her esthetician company she is starting. 

Saturday my parents and I woke up at the buttcrack of dawn to head to LA to Jacks Candy Wharehouse to shop for my Candy Bar.  If you've ever done a Candy Bar before, you know how expensive it is.  I researched so many companies online that deliver, but found Jacks through a friend.  IT was soo much cheaper than if we ordered online.  So If you are local to LA, or it's within driving distance, go with Jacks. It's a no brainer!

Sunday I met up with a girlfriend for a late lunch (duh.. If you know me you know I love lunch)  and to catch up.  It's always so nice catching up.  We discussed my wedding, her new job, and life.

I went home to help her begin her website, and place her logo and all the fun stuff!
