Inspire Me 2014: Day 15

Happy Thursday! For a second I thought it was Friday and I was really excited until I realized it wasn't.  Anyways, It's day 15 of the Inspire Me Blog Challenge, hosted by and Kristen and myself!

Today's topic:
Thursday, January 23: Many new babies have been introduced into the blogging world in the last year. Tell us about one of the funniest moments you've had with them.
You know, I haven't really been introduced to any new babies recently.  However, this upcoming weekend I am attending a Baby Shower.  I guess that's the closest to a baby that I will come in contact with until she is born.
I do have many moments being a kid that I do cherish.  Some are funny and some are not.
Here are some I can remember from the top of my head:

1. I broke my wrist the summer before 1st grade.

How? Well, being the dork that I am, I was dancing on a step-stool and lost my balance.  I fell and hit my wrist hard on a table.  I never cried once. I just screamed at the top of my lungs and ran upstairs to my mom.  She immediately rushed me to my doctor where they told me I broke several little bones in my wrist. Luckily I didn't have to go to school with a broken wrist because it was summer.  However, I couldn't go swimming which was a bummer.
The best part of the story is when I got home, my friend bought me a Barbie to make me feel better.  I almost wanted to break something else to get more presents! haha I kid!

2. I went to Hawaii for my 5th Birthday.

I remember being picked up from Kindergarten to head to the airport.  You see, my Birthday is also my parents Anniversary.  I never thought much about their Anniversary, I was more focused on my Birthday.  I also probably didn't really understand what an anniversary was when I was 5.  I remember little bits and pieces of Hawaii like swimming with dolphins, it being warm, and eating a huge chocolate cake.  I also remember going to a Luau where I apparently danced alot. Since then I have been to Hawaii 5 times.

3. Hiding in the mall.

I remember going to the mall with my parents and hiding in between the clothing racks.  Who didn't do this as a kid? I remember doing it all the time. One time my parents kept trying to find me and said they were leaving.
I remember freaking out thinking they were actually leaving me.

4. Being locked in a restaurants restroom.

Technically I wasn't locked in.  I thought I was.
So there was a super narrow hallway leading into the restroom.
My parents and I were vacationing in Florida I wanna say I was in 1st or 2nd grade, prior to me breaking my arm.  I went to the restroom by myself, and when I was on my way out I kept pushing on the door.  It wasn't opening. I started to panick. I kept pushing and pushing and it wouldn't open. I thought I was stuck in this tiny little bathroom all alone.  I started screaming for help.  Finally one of the employees came and opened the door and my mom came running over after realizing it was probably me.  I found out later that the door said "pull." I was so embarrassed and my parents said everyone in the restaurant heard screaming but wasn't sure where it was coming from.  To this day my dad still tells this story. haha I laugh now.  And now I know to read the door when I walk out.

  1. Hahahaha I have that issue with doors ALL the time. I really wish I was joking, but sadly, I'm not.

  3. So jealous of your trips to Hawaii, I've still never been there. We went to Fiji for our honeymoon so I basically flew right past it, but that doesn't count. It looks incredibly gorgeous!
